Marma Massage Training
Date:
Saturday, July 31, 2010 - 9:00am - Sunday, August 1, 2010 - 5:00pm
I have an upcoming Marma massage classes that provide 16 CE hours. It will be
held at the Northwest Academy of Healing Arts in West Seattle on July
31/Aug 1. Cost is $315 for the weekend.
Why a Marma massage over abhyanga? With its lighter application of oil
and deeper rhythm and flows, it is style used for daily massage in
the Kerala region of India and hones in on balancing the body's flow
of prana. It uses much less oil yet provides a profound effect on
the central nervous system, digestion and circulation. I have used
this style since 2005 with excellent results from headache sufferers,
joint pain [esp. fibromyalgia] and those who like invigorating work.
Sonia Masocco at the Ayurvedic Institute teaches this routine in a
summer intensive at the Ayurvedic Institute and I am here to share my
experiences with you and the research I've done to demystify marma
therapy. Excellent handouts are provided as well insights on how to
integrate the principles of this work into any massage session. If
you have any questions, please ask!
